Note

The showcases below were created during my working period at blaxxun interactive between 1999 and 2002. They demonstrate interactive 3d product presentation and entertainment applications without the need for a browser plugin. However, as 3d rendering is done in Java you will need an up-to-date Java runtime environment to display the examples. Various showcases use inter-applet communication for different interactions. This might interfere with your browsers security settings.

Siemens Kitchen

The a-line, one of Siemens´modern kitchen facilities was visualised in that project.

The goal was to create a photo realistic interactive 3D presentation, which should fit to the already existing website and print brochures. Small file size and plug-in free representation were additional demands.

Several actions can be performed by clicking on certain parts of the object, while ideal views are provided from the buttons below the 3D.

In this project I was responsible for the navigation and 2D/3D interaction.

Toshiba Notebook

The Toshiba Notebook was created as part of a Multi-User eCommerce Showcase of the blaxxun Platform.

The goal was to demonstrate the additional value of an interactive high quality 3D presentation, combined with Multi-User features like a call center consultant demonstrating the products.

Different actions can be triggered by clicking on several parts of the object or using the menu. Additionally technical informations are displayed in a second frame.

In this project I realised the menu and all 2D/3D interactions of the object.

Car Configurator

This car configurator was created as a showcase for BMW AG.

In this application the user can interactively change the colour and rims of the BMW 328i. The views menu provides several views on details of the car and therefore simplifies navigation. Of course a free navigation is available as well.

This showcase was produced for plug-in (blaxxun Contact) making use of certain plug-in specific rendering features like environment mapping etc. Afterwards a lightweight plug-in free version was created. This plug-in free version is available here.

My work in this showcase was the menu interaction programming and the porting to the plug-in free version.

Goal Wall Shooting

blaxxun interactive created Soccercity, a virtual community for soccer fans. In order to bring life to this community we created several games. One of them is this "Goal Wall Shooting". The aim of this game is to hit one of the holes in the wall.

This game was first designed for the blaxxun Contact VRML plug-in and afterwards ported to blaxxun3D, the plug-in free alternative.

I was responsible for concept, design and implementation of this game.

Virtual Presenter Jasmina

This virtual character performed as a virtual presenter on a trade fair, where it was shown on a rojection wall. As it was controlled using keyboard actions, the character could interact with a real presenter and visitors of the booth.

The character can be controlled using the keys 1 to 6 and Space. The plug-in free version, which is shown here, has the speciality that the triggered animations are only downloaded when requested, which optimizes the download time.

My tasks in this project included modelling and animation of the body, the design and implementation of the keyboard control and the implementation of the animation streaming which is done in Java.

X-Mas Card

As a marketing event for Christmas blaxxun interactive designed these interactive Christmas cards.

Using the menu on the left it is possible to select the Santa of choice, equip him/her with certain objects and let him perform different animations. Different backgrounds are available as well.

My tasks in this project included character modelling and animation and the implementation of the selection mechanism.

Please note, that no X-Mas cards can be sent from this showcase.
